Alkahest is a Tartan 42 built in Hamlet, North Carolina in 1981 (hull number 24 of 32).  She

 came to us from Los Angeles and arrived in Seattle October, 1998.

 Even though we’ve done a lot of work on her over the past few years, she came to us in

 excellent shape as we are just the 3^rd owners.

 We’ve done a lot to try to get her ready for the ‘big’ trip like adding the single side

 band/ham radio, wind vane, new propeller, solar panels,  etc, etc (we could review our

 Visa bill for the thousands of dollars we’ve spent for more details, however, that would be

 too painful!)

We have no doubt that Alkahest will safely take us wherever we ask her to go as she is a

very seaworthy craft.
